Choosing God’s Best For Your Life

Six Principles of God’s BEST for Your Life

Guidelines for Making Choices

The Bible is often crystal-clear about what is right or wrong.  Sometimes situations arise that may be “gray areas”- the Bible doesn’t speak on the matter directly.  Here are some principles that can be applied to help make the best decisions on all matters in your daily life.

  1.  Expediency—Is it Best?

I Corinthians 6:12a & I Corinthians 10:23a

“All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient:”

  1. Enslavement—Does it Bind (restrict or control)?

I Corinthians 6:12b

“All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.”

  1. Edification—Does it Build?

I Corinthians 10:23b

All things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.”

  1. Exaltation—Does it Boast in God?

I Corinthians 10:31

“Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.”

  1. Equivocation—Does it Bring Doubt?

Romans 14:23

“And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.”

  1. Entanglement—Does it Bring Reproach?

Ephesians 5:11

“And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.”

I Thessalonians 5:22

“Abstain from all appearance of evil.”
